Weed Control Journal (Formerly Revista Brasileira de Herbicidas) is an Open Access scientific journal continuously published by the Brazilian Weed Science Society (Sociedade Brasileira da Ciência das Plantas Daninhas – SBCPD), publishing Research Articles, Short Communications, and Review Articles. Review Articles are published by invitations performed by the Editorial Board of the Journal, which can also be independently submitted based on previous consult by e-mail to the Chief-editors of Weed Control Journal.

The manuscripts submitted to the journal will initially be evaluated for scope, writing and scientific quality by the Chief-editors and may be rejected immediately upon submission or sent to the Associate Editors for peer review processing. In the evaluation process, at least two researchers with recognized scientific background will review the manuscript. At the end of the peer review process, the designated Associate Editor will proceed with the recommendation on the feasibility of publishing the manuscript (accept or reject), based on the reviewers’ assessments.

 

Scope: Weed Control Journal publishes articles covering all aspects of weed science, including:

  • Weed control in agricultural, non-crop areas, and in natural ecosystems.
  • Integrated approaches for weed control.
  • Invasive plant control.
  • Herbicide selectivity.
  • Herbicide mixture interactions.
  • Reports of new weed problems.
  • New technologies for weed control.
  • Chemical weed control may also be accepted, provided there is clear relevance to weed science technology.
  • Efficacy e characteristics of new herbicides.
  • Herbicide ecotoxicology.
  • Surveys, education, and extension topics related to weed control.
  • Regulatory aspects of weed control.
