Effect ofpropisochlor with and without other herbicides in pre and post-emergence in corn
Two field experiments were carried out in Engenheiro Coelho, SP, to evaluate the selectivity and efficiency of the herbicide propisochlor, alone and in combination with other herbicides, applied in pre and post-emergence in com. A randomized block design was used with four replications inc1uding the following treatments: propisochlor (at 1008, 1080 and 1152 g/ha), propisochlor formulated with atrazine (at 1008/1400, 1080/1400 e 1152/1400 g/ha), and with terbutylazine in tank rnix (at 1008+1800, 1080+ 1800e 1152+ 1800 g/ha), acetochlor at 2688 g/ha, metolachlor at 1250 g/ha, atrazine at 3500 g/ha; terbutylazine at3000 g/ha and controls with and without application products for selectivity and control respectively. The results showed that propisochlor alone and in mixture with atrazine or terbutylazine at any dose controlled efficiently Brachiaria plantaginea, Digitaria horizontalis, Eleusine indica, Amaranthus viridis and Bidens pilosa, up to 45 days with pre application. Propisochlor only in combination with either atrazine or terbutilazine did not have satisfactory post-emergence activity. None of the chemical treatments affected com growth.
