The increasing use of glyphosate in Brazil has increased the selection pressure on species of weeds tolerant and resistant to this herbicide. This study aimed to evaluate the influence of glyphosate use pattern in the population dynamics of weeds in soybeans in thirty-five sampling areas of different properties. These areas were classified as to the number of applications and equivalent amount of glyphosate acid. We used the square-inventory method in thirty-five sampling areas in the 2012/2013 harvest. The structural parameters […]

Orchidaceae species are produced on a large scale for commercialization of its flowers. However, because of its slow development, the substrate is subject to weed infestation, such as brilhantina (Pilea microphylla). Thus, we aimed to evaluate the selectivity of herbicides to the orchid seedlings of genre Rhynchostylis ([Rhynchostylis gigantea Alba x Rhynchostylis gigantea] X Rhynchostylis gigantea Semi-Alba) and control of P. microphylla. A completely randomized design with four replicates per treatment was adopted. The herbicides studied were oxyfluorfen (0, 120, […]

To maintain the quality of the cotton fiber, as well as to provide great yields on the harvest, some aspects must be taken into account such as the uniformity of the bolls and the defoliation; therefore, the use of herbicides and maturators become indispensable. Thus, the objective of this paper was to evaluate the efficiency of the prohexadione-calcium regarding its isolate application and in association with other products in the uniformity and opening of the cotton bolls, as well as […]

DOI: 10.7824/rbh.v14i1.250

Crambe is a dedicated oilseed crop suitable for production of industrial feedstocks. Due to the lack of information of post-emergent herbicides, the aim of this study was to evaluate the selectivity of post-emergence herbicides to crambe. The experiment was conducted in Maracaju, MS, Brazil, in 2013. Clethodim (120 g ha-1 a.i.), haloxyfop-p-methyl (63.35 g ha-1 a.i.), fomesafen + fluazifop-p-butil (125 + 125 g ha-1 a.i.), fomesafen + fluazifop-p-butil (187.5 + 187.5 g ha-1 a.i.), nicosulfuron (45 g ha-1 a.i.) herbicides […]

This work was developed with the objective of monitoring the occurrence of glyphosate-resistant biotypes of sourgrass (D. insularis) in Machado, Alpinópolis, Serrania and Divisa Nova, in the south region of Minas Gerais, Brazil. In each area, seeds of at least 20 plants were collected in full physiological maturity stage. For operational reasons, the analysis of different biotypes was divided into two timings, the first held in the second half of 2013 and the second in the first half of 2014. […]

Ryegrass (Lolium multiflorum) is an annual grass, traditionally used as forage that has become weed in crops in the south of Brazil.  It has been observed that there are ryegrass biotypes resistant to glyphosate that survive the application of herbicides that inhibit ALS and ACCase. Therefore, the objective was to evaluate the sensitivity of different ryegrass biotypes to glyphosate, iodosulfuron-methyl and clethodim herbicides. The experiment was carried out in a greenhouse, in randomized blocks, in a triple factorial arrangement with […]

In order to increase productivity levels, reduce costs and improve efficiency in mechanical harvesting, new technologies are being incorporated such as governor use of growth and application of sub-dose of glyphosate with promising hormetic effect on cotton plants. To do this, this study aims to evaluate the effect of the application of sub-dose of glyphosate and growth regulator system on cotton agronomic characteristics. The experimental design was randomized blocks in a factorial 6 x 2 + 1, with four replications, […]

Metribuzin is an herbicide widely used in the control of weeds in crops such as soybean, potato and tomato. However, there is suspicion of intoxication in crops cultivated in succession due to the residual effect of the product in the soil. As such, our goal was to evaluate the residual effect of metribuzin in the soil on the growth of garlic, onion and beans plants. Three experiments were conducted in a greenhouse, in a randomized block design, with four replications. Each experiment […]

This study has aimed to verify the influence of the droplets size categories and application volumes on burn down Urochloa ruziziensis and Conyza sp. Therefore, two trials were conducted in a randomized block design with four replications in a 2×4 split plot arrangement. The plots consisted in droplets size categories (very fine droplets and ultra coarse droplets) and the subplots consisted in four application volumes (50, 100, 150 and 200 L ha-1). For desiccation, glyphosate herbicide was used at 0.975 […]

The research goal was to evaluate the effects of silicone surfactant and simulated rainfall in glyphosate efficiency in controlling Brachiaria decumbens. The experiments were carried out at (a unit of the University of São Paulo) Escola Superior de Agricultura Luiz de Queiroz (ESALQ – Luiz de Queiroz College of Agriculture) in greenhouse conditions, in a randomized block design with four replications. In one experiment, a simulated rainfall of 10 mm was carried out, 30 minutes after treatments application, and in […]
