Mechanized harvesting has introduced some new factors in the cultivation of sugar cane which affect the dynamics of occurrence and weed control. One such factor is the operation of break-backs performed 60 to 90 days after planting in order to standardize the soil to work the machine harvester, but this operation causes damages to residual herbicides applied at planting. The present work was to evaluate the selectivity and performance of chemical weed control applied in two seasons: the planting of the […]

This research aimed to study different herbicides applied in the sugarcane culture during the rainy season. The experiment was established in a 3rd ratoon crop of cultivar SP84- 2025 and planted in a soil with 49.9% clay, 36.6% sand and 13.5% silt. The experimental design was a randomized block in a split-plot scheme with experimental units consisting of five sugarcane interrows with 5 m, spaced 1,5 m (37.5 m2 ) and sub-plots with one cane row of 5 m (7.5 […]

The aim of this study was to evaluate the association between the herbicides clomazone + hexazinone applied during a dry period and at different doses, on soil and sugarcane mulch, in the weed control. The experiment was applied in August 22, 2007 in Santa Maria, São Paulo, Brazil. The experimental plots were constituted of five sugarcane lines spaced in 1,5 m, with 6 m of length. In the plots were sown the weeds Brachiaria decumbens, Euphorbia heterophylla, Ipomoea grandifolia, Ipomoea nil, […]

The work was developed with the objective of evaluating the carry over effect in soil of nicosulfuron herbicide isolated and nicosulfuron + atrazine over soybean, bean, cotton, cucumber, sunflower and rice crops, sown in different periods after herbicides application. The experiment was carried out from November/2008 to April/2009, at FEP-UNESP, in Selviria, County/MS, with clayey soil. The experiment was conducted under conventional tillage with crops sown in 0.5 cm spacing. The experimental design was randomized complete block with 13 treatments […]
