The management of coverage species may be accomplished by mechanical or chemical methods. In chemical method nonselective herbicides are used mainly the ones belonging to glyphosate group. The objective of this study was to evaluate phytotoxicity and agronomic efficacy of two formulations with active ingredient glyphosate over desiccation in ground cover species. The present study was conducted in field conditions in Marechal Candido Rondon County, Parana State. Experimental design used was randomized complete blocks with four repetitions in factorial scheme […]

The volunteer corn Roundup Ready® has been effective managed by ACCase graminicides as burndown prior to sowing soybean. However, before crop installation, there are other glyphosate-tolerant weeds in the field such as Conyza sp., Commelina sp., Ipomoea sp., Spermacoce latifolia and Richardia brasiliensis. Thus, the tank mixture of ACCase inhibitor herbicides with 2.4-D, is increasing in this segment. The present study evaluated the efficacy of Haloxyfop (GF-142) isolated and with 2.4-D (DMA 806 BR®) to volunteer corn control sprayed at […]

The use of growth regulators in wheat crop is a usual practice, and one of its effects is the changing in plants architecture, what may interfere in the early season for weeds control. With the objective of evaluating the influence of growth regulator (trinexapac-ethyl) effect over agronomic characteristics and wheat yield, in order to determining the best period to initiating weeds control in wheat crop, an experiment was conducted in Ponta Grossa County, Parana State in 2011 agricultural year. Experimental […]

The most used weed control method in the sugarcane crop nowadays is the chemical. However, there is a great variation in selectivity of the genotypes regarding these products. The aim of this work was to evaluate the effect of herbicides on yield components of sugarcane genotypes. It was used a randomized blocks design, in a split-splot, with four replicates. In the plots were allocated the treatments: ametryn (2000 g ha-1), trifloxysulfuron-sodium (22.5 g ha-1), ametryn + trifloxysulfuron-sodium (1,463 + 37 […]

Canola has outstanding as a great winter crop option and nowadays occupies the fourth place among oil species in production. One of the major difficulties in canola cultivation is the harvest season, because its pods do not show maturation uniformity. A technique that may be used to facilitate the harvest is the use of desiccants. Therefore, this study aimed to evaluate desiccation effect, in distinct pods maturation in canola crop. The work was conducted in field conditions, in Terra Roxa […]

Generation of RR® soybean genotypes allowed many farmers adopted the use of glyphosate in weed management in post-emergence in cerrado. However, information about the use of this technology on soybean crop growth in “cerrado” region is important in order to obtain desired yields. Thus, the objective of this study was to evaluate the effects of glyphosate application in post-emergence condition over agronomic characteristics and over RR soybean nodulation. The trial was conducted in randomized blocks experimental design in factorial scheme […]

The sourgrass (Digitaria insularis) characteristics of aggressiveness and the existence of glyphosate resistant biotypes puts this weed in evidence in the Brazilian agricultural scenario In this regard, the present study aimed at the development and evaluation of strategies for the management of sourgrass (Digitaria insularis) resistant to glyphosate in out-of-season corn crop. The use of paraquat in pre-harvest burn-down of soybean followed by the application of clethodim two days after harvesting soybeans provided flexibility to choose the herbicide used as […]

The objective of this study was to evaluate the physiological characteristics of sugarcane after application of pre-emergence herbicides. For this, an experiment was conducted in a 2×5 factorial scheme, where the first factor consisted of cultivates RB 867515 and SP 81-3250, and factor B of the pre-emergence application of tebuthiuron, diuron, ametryn, a formulated mixture diuron + hexazinone and a control without herbicides. The experimental design was completely randomized, with four replications. The internal concentration of carbon (Ci), internal and […]

Maintenance of mulch on the soil surface can reduce the potential for weed infestations, and may affect transposition of the herbicides, the dynamics of wetting and washing the straw by rainwater. The study had as objectives evaluate the dynamics of the herbicides diuron, tebuthiuron and metribuzin in different water regimes with and without straw, and point out the main relationships between the presence or absence of straw removal of herbicides by rainwater and influence on the effectiveness of weed control. Herbicides are the most important pesticides in the world and essential for food production. They are synthesized to affect plants but on the other hand can cause negative impact to non-target organisms in case of contamination of aquatic environments. Thus, monitor the loss of herbicides to aquatic environments is an indispensable assignment to practice a sustainable agriculture, especially in Brazil: the most important pesticide user in the world, one of the largest food producers and watershed holder. The purpose of […]

In Burndown cover plants in areas under no-till the glyphosate herbicide is the most widely used. With the aims to determine the lower dose to burndown the cover crop species adopted the Urochloa ruziziensis cv. Kennedy, U. decumbens cv. Basilisk e U. brizantha cv. BRS Piatã, in four doses (0, 0,72, 1,44 and 2,16 kg ha-1 of acid equivalent). The experimental design was of randomized blocks with four replications, in a plot scheme subdivided (3 x 4), in which the […]
