The present research was carried out in a raw ratoon cane area located in Bocaina, SP, with cultivar RB85-5156, planted with a space of 1.4 m between the rows, on a sandy soil, with the objective of studying management alternatives with herbicides applied in the pre-emergence period during the dry season, adopting the randomized blocs design with four replications. In order to apply the herbicides, a CO2 pressurized backpack sprayer was used, with a constant pressure of 200 kgf.-2 and […]

With the insertion of showy crotalaria as an antagonistic plant in areas with nematodes infestation history, the occurrence of volunteer plants from this species became common, making it necessary to adopt measures for their management. Thus, this work had the goal to evaluate the effectiveness of herbicides used on different species that where grown in rotation with showy crotalaria (C. spectabilis), aiming at its use in controlling volunteer plants from this species. Two experiments (herbicides applied in pre and post-emergence) […]

The extensive use of glyphosate has selected weeds of difficult control and one of the alternatives to overcome this problem is the association of different herbicides and adjuvants with glyphosate. The objective of the experiment was evaluate the effects on deposition and effectiveness of saflufenacil and glyphosate isolated or in mixture with addition of adjuvants applied in post-emergence of dayflower and morning glory plants. The experiments were conducted in a greenhouse. On the first experiment was adopted the factorial 3×5 […]

The objective of this work was to evaluate the tolerance of cowpea, BSR Aracê, to different herbicides applied in the post-emergence period, in the initial phase of plant growth. The experiment was conducted in a greenhouse, in a completely randomized design, with four replications. The treatments evaluated were: haloxyfop (60 g ha-1), lactofen (180 g ha-1), chlorimuron-ethyl (17,5 g ha-1), bentazon (576 g ha-1), bentazon + imazamox (600 + 28 g ha-1), imazethapyr (100 g ha-1), fomesafen (250 g ha-1), […]

The chemical control of weeds is an important management to keep high productivity in the wheat crop. Due to the scarceness of registered products for the crop, the goal of this work was to evaluate the selectivity of the flumioxazin herbicide to wheat, applied in post-emergence. The experiment was conducted on the field and the used experimental design was the randomized block one, with four replications. The treatments were applied on stage V3 of the wheat crop and consisted in […]

Auxins IAA (indole-3-acetic acid), 2,4-D (2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid) and 2,4,5-T (2,4,5-trichlorophenoxyacetic acid) were applied on maize (Zea mays, monocot) and bean (Phaseolus vulgaris, dicot) plants, with the goal to understand the mechanisms that lead to different responses in relation to the metabolism of ethylene. Maize plants treated with auxins did not produce ethylene, whereas beans produced a lot of it after the treatment. After being sprayed with auxins, maize did not produced any 1-Aminocyclopropane-1-carboxylic acid (ACC), which was observed on beans. […]

In order to bypass cases of glyphosate-resistant weeds, it becomes necessary to use herbicides with other action mechanisms. The goal of this work was to evaluate the effectiveness and selectivity of herbicides with isolated or tank mix application for the management of soybean-infesting glyphosate-resistant weeds. Treatments were applied sequentially, during pre-emergence: clomazone (900 g ha-1 a.i.); flumioxazin (50 g ha-1 a.i.); diclosulam (35.02 g ha-1 a.i.); s-metolachlor (1152 g ha-1 a.i.); sulfometuron + chlorimuron-ethyl (18.75 + 18.75 g ha-1 a.i.); […]

Bahiagrass (Paspalum notatum) is a poacea resistant to trampling, water restriction and low soil fertility; however, it requires frequent cutting to eliminate the biomass excess it produces. To inhibit the growth of turfs and to avoid or delay cutting, growth regulators and herbicides have been tested. The goal of this work was to evaluate the potential of three herbicides as growth regulators on bahiagrass, and their influence on growth and chloroplast pigment content. The experimental design was in randomized blocks, […]

The herbicide sulfentrazone, used in sugarcane cultivation, is recommended for the control of eudicots and monocotyledons in pre-emergence and is also indicated for the control of Panicum maximum and Ipomea hederifolia. The research was carried out with the objective of verify the influence of the sulfrentazone herbicide with and without adjuvant on soil without straw cover under different periods without rainfall, associated to different application volumes, for the control of P. maximum and I. Hederifolia. The experimental design was a […]
