The objective of this study was to determine efficiency of herbicide foramsulfuron + iodosulfuron applied as post-emergence to control weeds in corn plantations. The experiment was established at UNIOESTE – Campus de Marechal Cândido Rondon, from October 2000 to March 2001. The postemergence application of the herbicides was executed at the 4 – 5 fully expanded corn leaves. We used a backpack pulverizer at constant pressure (CO2) of 2,1 Kgf/cm2 and a bar equipped with 6 XR Teejet 110-02 nozzles […]

Some herbicides frequently used in economical main crops, such as soybean, cause oxidative stress in aerobical organisms, characterized by formation of oxygen reactive species, like superoxide radicals. Superoxide dismutase (SOD) is an enzyme that plays important role in response to oxidative stress in plants, by acting over superoxide radical, forming hydrogen peroxide and molecular oxygen. The aim of this research was to determine the activity of SOD in order to verify your action to protect soybean plants protection against oxidative […]

The aim of this work was to evaluate the effects of herbicides and tillage systems used to control weeds, on corn, soybeans and sorghum crops, cultivated in sequence of irrigated rice. These crops were grown in no-till, minimum tillage and conventional systems in Hidromorfic Soil. The best results for these crops in that kinds of soil were achieved with the conventional system. The sorghum crop stood out that objective, when compared to the other two crops. The atrazine herbicide used […]

The environmental fate of a pesticide depends on many factors, among them the soil characteristics as mineralogy, soil chemistry and organic matter content. This study aims to verify how the adaptation of chemical and mineralogical properties of a dark red latosol from the Brazilian savanna under the continuous use of no till practice can affect its affinity to atrazine and two metabolites (deethylatrazine and hydroxyatrazine). Therefore, beyond the characterization of the cited parameters, batch studies were performed with both no […]

The present work had the objective to study the behavior of the superficial tension in solution drops elaborated with different surfactants concentrations. To analyze the tension he/she made himself weight of the drops formed in the extremity of the burette, with the following combined treatments of form factorial (15×12) 15 surfactants (Ag-Bem, Agral, Aterbane BR, Agrex, Break Thru, Extravon, Energic, Fixade, Gotafix, Haiten, Herbitensil, Iharaguem, Lanzar, Silwet L-77 and Will Fix) and 12 concentrations (0; 0,001; 0,0025; 0,005; 0,01; 0,025; […]

The Espraiado watershed is located on a recharge area of the Guarany aquifer, the most important source of groundwater in South Central Brazil. The presence of crops in which herbicides of triazine group are used and sandy soils make the area vulnerable to leaching. One of the herbicide used is atrazine (2-chloro-4-(ethylamino)- 6-(isopropylamino)-S-triazine). Due to its physical and chemical characteristics, atrazine has a high potential to leach into groundwater. In order to evaluate atrazine leaching in the soil, surface and […]

This research was conducted from 01/06 to 03/08/98 at the location of Irai de Minas, with the objective of evaluating the biological activity of a commercial mixture of ametryne plus simazine with glyphosate and paraquat, for the control of Brachiaria plantaginea, Digitaria horizontalis, Amaranthus hybridus, Commelina benghalensis and Eleusine indica in a Catucai coffee crop. Treatments were constituted of two doses (2500+960 and 3000+960 g.ha-1) of the commercial mixture of ametryne plus simazine with glyphosate, two doses (2500+300 and 3000+300 […]

The effects of soil water and, by inference, the plant water status prior to herbicide treatment, on the response of soybean and Euphorbia heterophylla L. to carfentrazoneethyl applied alone and in mixture with imazethapyr were studied under field conditions. The study was conducted during the 2001/2002 growing season. The experimental design was a split block in strips with four replications. The strips consisted of irrigation (irrigation and no-irrigation) and herbicide. The irrigation consisted of an event of 30 mm of […]

Studies on herbicides selectivity in the culture sugar-cane, they plows generally done together with rehearsals of effectiveness on harmful plants and always being used the witness by experimental block. When the contrast treatment is analyzed with herbicide in relation to an only witness without herbicide, there is a tendency in obtaining larger values for the variation coefficient, being able to not in that way, to hide some non selective herbicides. Therefore, the objective of the present work, specifically went evaluate […]

One of the strategies to improve the mechanic harvest performance is using desiccants in pre-harvest application. Thus, an experiment was carried at “Fundação ABC” experimental area during 2001/2002 season, in Arapoti, Parana State, Brazil. The aim of the study was to evaluate the pre-harvest desiccants effect on common bean seeds quality (germination and vigor) after harvest and after a period of 8 month of storage. The variety Carioca under no tillage system was used. The treatments were applied using a […]

In Brazil, the maize crop presents the biggest consumption of metolachlor herbicide; however, with the increase of winter beans cultivated area, this culture became an important market for this product. The work was developed in FCA/UNESP, Botucatu, SP, with objective to evaluate rates of the metolachlor herbicide in the common bean, being used cultivar FT Bonito, in winter season. the development stadiums V2, V3 and V4. The treatments had been constituted of five doses (0; 1,0; 2,0; 3,0; 4,0 and […]
