The present study aimed to verify the effectiveness of saflufenacil herbicide in post-emergence weeds control. Saflufenacil herbicide was applied over Luffa aegyptia, Merremia cissoides, Mucuna aterrima and Ricinus communis weeds, when the plants contained the second pair of true leaves at 0x, 0.25x, 0.5x, 1x, 2x, 4x, 8x with the last one the commercial recommended dose (50 g a.i. ha-1). The evaluations of control and plants canopy dry matter mass were conducted at 28 days after treatments application. The experimental design […]

The objective of the work was to evaluate the selectivity and efficiency of amicarbazone herbicide in pre-emergency, in controlling Ipomoeas species in sugarcane crop. The experiment was developed between November, 2005 to November, 2006, in Santa Terezinha Farm, Pereira Barreto County, São Paulo State, cultivated by Pioneiros Bioenergia Company. The soil of the area is classified as LVE sandy texture. The experiment was developed in area of sugarcane crop of second year (first cut), with RB 86-5486 genotype and spacing […]

In recent years some species of Solanaceae has appeared more frequently infesting cotton crops. Information on the management of these species are still scarce in this culture. In order to seek effective alternatives in the management of these weeds was installed this work. The experiments were conducted in green-house and installed two for each species evaluated (Nicandra physaloides Gaertn e Solanum americanum Mill.), varying the stage of application (2 to 4 and 4 to 6 true leaves). The treatments were […]

This research aimed to evaluate the efficacy of herbicides associated with sugarcane straw on the control of Ipomoea triloba and Urochloa decumbens after simulation of different time periods of rain. Two experiments were conducted in greenhouse in pots filled with soil, being placed on them the equivalent of 0, 5 and 10 t ha-1 of sugarcane straw, after  weed species sowing. The herbicides mesotrione, formulated mixture of [hexazinone+diuron] and imazapic were applied in pre-emergence on the pots with or without […]

The potential yield of corn may be affected by weed interference. The aim of this research was evaluate the chemical control of weed in fields of corn (BRS 1035), with sub lethal rates of nicosulfuron associated with atrazine in order to reduce doses without lose large spectrum of action in the control of weed community. The herbicides treatments were: nicosulfuron at 20, 40 e 60 g ha-1, nicosulfuron + atrazine at 20 + 1000 and 40 + 1000 g ha-1 […]

Several studies report herbicide tolerance variations of same species with different genotypes. Thus, this study aimed to evaluate the tolerance of five cassava cultivars to the post-emergence applications of fluazifop-p-butyl, fomesafen and the association of both products. In the first visual assessment of intoxication, the most visible symptoms in cassava plants of poisoning was observed at 7 days after application (DAA), caused by mixture treatment (fomesafen + fluzifop-p-butyl) and fomesafen isolated as well. At the end of the evaluation period […]

This study investigated the residual activity of different rates of the herbicides alachlor, oxyfluorfen, prometryne and S-metolachlor applied in pre-emergence in soils of contrasting textures. For that, eight simultaneous experiments were conducted with samples of PSAMENT (sandy texture) and RED LATOSOL (clay texture), which received alachlor (0; 2.40 and 3.36 kg ha-1), oxyfluorfen (0; 0.48 and 0.72 kg ha-1), prometryne (0; 0.75 and 1.50 kg ha-1) and S-metolachlor (0; 1.20 and 1.44 kg ha-1) applications. The treatments monitoring was made […]

This work aimed to evaluate associations between adjuvant to herbicides used in burndown and weeds control in post emergence conditions in wheat crop. The experiment was conducted by using randomized complete blocks with four repetitions, in factorial scheme 2 x 5 + 1, constituted by two burndown forms in pre sowing, represented by only one application and in sequence, with five adjuvant combinations (without adjuvant; Triunfo 515®; Grap Super Gun®; Assist® and Fulltec®) and a check without application. All treatments […]

An experiment was carried out in the eucalyptus area of Capão Bonito in the São Paulo state, Brazil, to evaluated the efficacy of the aerial application of the herbicides sulfentrazone and isoxaflutole using clay granules for weed control in Eucalyptus area. Aerial application of the herbicides sulfentrazone at 500 and 750 g a.i. ha-1 and isoxaflutole at 150 e 225 g a.i. ha-1, was carried out using clay granules with 1,05 g cm-3 density, high absorption capacity (24 ml 100 […]

The aim of this study was evaluate the interaction between adjuvants and spray nozzles Euphorbia heterophylla control with mesotrione. Was held application of the herbicide by three models of spray nozzles (TT 110.02, AI 110.02 and TTI 110.02) and two dosages of mineral and vegetal oil (0.5 and 3.0%). Also was verified the qualitative attributes of nozzles, using a distribution table and a droplet analyzer laser. We evaluated the visual intoxication in plants at 2, 7, 14 and 21 days […]

The incorporation of tools related to the technology of application of pesticides is inevitable for a sustainable agriculture. We tested the efficiency in the control of Ipomoea nil in initial after-emergency with diuron + hexazinone, in two volumes of application (20 ha-1 and 40 L ha-1), with or without the addition of adjuvant, using peaks of rotating and hydraulically spraying, comparatively. Other two assays had been carried to compare the volumetric distribution of solution and the diameter of the drops […]

Chemical safeners may be used to increase the tolerance of crops to herbicides, when applied as seed treatment, as well as in mixed or formulated joint to the herbicide. The mechanisms of action of these safeners are related to the reduction in the absorption and/or translocation, metabolization and to the competition with the site of herbicides action. This review aims to describe the ways of use, action mode, limitations and future perspectives for using safeners as an additional tool to […]

Some Convolvulaceas can cause serious damage to the sugarcane crop. In addition, can interfere on cultural practices, in mechanical harvesting, quality reducing and productivity. The aim of this estudy was verify effectiveness of some herbicides applied in pre-emergence of sugarcane culture in the absence or presence of straw, on control of six species of convolvuluses. The experimental was a completely randomized design, in a factorial with three replications, six species of Convolvulaceas (Ipomoea grandifolia, I. hederifolia, I. nil, I. purpurea, […]
