The objective of this study was to evaluate the efficiency of ammonium-glufosinate in management programs for weeds in cotton crop FiberMax 966 Liberty Link® genotype. The experiment was installed in experimental area of Paiaguás Farm, located in municipality of Diamantino, Mato Grosso State. The experiment was conducted in a randomized block design with eight treatments and four replications. For weeds efficient management in FiberMax 966 LL genotype, the application of herbicide treatment in pre-emergence may reduce up to two post-emergence […]

This study aimed to evaluate the weed control with the herbicide diuron sprayed in pre- and post-emergence, either under shade or full sun. It was studied the effect of the diuron at in the formulation 500 SC at 3.2 and 4.8 L ha-1 of the trade product on the plants of Euphorbia heterophylla, Ipomoea grandifolia and Raphanus raphanistrum sprayed in pre-emergence, as well as the same doses sprayed in post-emergence on plants of E. heterophylla, I. grandifolia and Senna occidentalis. Chemical control of weeds in sugarcane crop may be performed in dry season, mainly due to agricultural operations planning, and logistics in relation to the use of equipment and labor. This study aimed to evaluate the agronomic efficacy of herbicides for controlling sugarcane grass weeds by using different periods of water restriction. Evaluated weeds were Digitaria nuda, Panicum maximum and Brachiaria decumbens. Herbicides treatments applied in total pre-emergency condition were: diuron + hexazinone + sulfometuron-methyl (1387 + 391 + 33.35; […]

The straw left on the soil surface after the sugarcane mechanical harvest affects directly the weed infestation, due to, among others, the limitation of temperature variation on the seed bank, the formation of a physical barrier which enables weed emergence, and the possible allelopathic effect of the sugarcane straw. On the other hand, the straw also works as a barrier to the herbicide until it is leached into the soil. The objective of this study was to test the effect of herbicides amicarbazone and imazapic applied on different amounts of straw for the control of Luffa aegyptiaca, Ipomoea hederifolia and Bidens pilosa. Two herbicides – amicarbazone and imazapic were tested at three different rates: 1008 g a.i. This study aimed to evaluate the control of red rice and the selectivity to commercial mutant rice varieties under application of imidazolinone herbicides. The experiment was installed in completely randomized blocks design, under factorial scheme 4×4, with four replications. Factor A was composed by the herbicides and Factor B by doses of these herbicides. The herbicides and doses were: imazethapyr + imazapic [(0.00; 37.50 + 12.50; 75.00 + 25.00 and 150.0+50.00 g ha-1) + Dash 0.5 v v-1], imazapyr + […]

The experiment was conducted with the objective of evaluating the selectivity of herbicides, applied in different times, in ornamental turf grasses. The first experiment was conducted in greenhouse conditions in randomized entirely design, with four replications, in a 4 x 5 x 2 factorial scheme. The factors corresponded to the pre-planting application herbicides ( sulfentrazone – 800 g ha-1, s-metolachlor – 1440 g ha-1 and atrazine – 2000 g ha-1 and  control without herbicide application) in five species of turfgrass: […]

Safeners are chemicals applied to crops, usually by seed treatment, to improve their tolerance to herbicides. The objective of this research was to evaluate the potential use of dietholate as a safener for pre-emergence applications of clomazone in common beans. Treatments were arranged in a factorial combination 2 x 5 x 6 composed by two herbicide treatments (without or with clomazone at 750 g ha-1), five doses of dietholate (0, 125, 250, 375 and 500 g. a.i. per 100 kg […]

Cynodon spp. specie is the predominant grass frequently used in fairways, greens, tees and roughs of golf courses, but does not necessarily requires intense preventive maintenance. In order to evaluate the selectivity of Kapina® and Kapina Plus® formulations herbicides for Cynodon spp. Tifway 419, in fairway of golf camp, an experiment was conducted on turf grass belonging to Maringa Golf Club. Experimental design used was randomized blocks, with seven treatments and four replications, constituted by Kapina® (750, 1500 and 2250 […]

The aim of this study was to evaluate glyphosate application in Roundup Ready® soybean and yield at different levels of manganese applied by foliar way. The experiment was conducted in 2011/2012 agricultural year in Nova Maringa County, Mato Grosso State, in randomized blocks experimental design, in factorial scheme 3 x 4, with four replications. Three glyphosate levels (0.0; 0.972; 1.620 kg a.i. ha-1) and four manganese levels (0.0; 0.350; 0.700 and 1.050 kg ha-1) were used. Glyphosate was applied at […]

The application of the mixture of glyphosate with 2,4-d took on great importance with high adoption of no-tillage system in the early 90s, and with the constant reports of weed biotypes resistant to glyphosate. However, studies on the drift of this mixture are still scarce. The aim of this study was to evaluate the potential drift of these herbicides, with or without the adjuvant, applied in wind tunnel. The experimental design was completely randomized considered, arranged in a factorial design […]

Weeds presence in corn crop (Zea mays L.) may cause high losses in production. Chemical control of these plants is the most used, but may adversely affect natural enemies present in crops. Therefore, the objective of this study was to evaluate herbicides toxicity s registered for corn crop to nymphs of Podisus nigrispinus Dallas, 1851 (Heteroptera: Pentatomidae) predator. It was evaluated the effect of atrazine, nicosulfuron, mesotrione, paraquat and its control based on distilled water over three immature stages of […]
