The control of weedy rice has been widely studied in weed science. However, gene flow from Clearfield rice (CL) to weedy rice has damaged the efficiency of the CL production system. A new rice crop that is resistant to ACCase inhibitor herbicides will be launched in the next year on the market, representing another tool for managing weedy rice in irrigated rice crops. In addition to using this tool, there is a need to increase the spectrum of herbicide treatments […]

The control of weeds in pastures is essential to improve the productivity indexes of agricultural activity and the correct and conscious use of herbicides is very important to reduce the problems caused by the residual effect in subsequent culture. Thus, this study evaluated the residual effect of the auxinic herbicides 2,4-D, picloram and 2,4-D + picloram on the initial development of soybean seedlings. The work was carried out in a greenhouse in a completely randomized design, in a 7 x […]

The soil weed seed bank is very dynamic and affected by several soil, plant management factors and environmental conditions. In this study, the immediate viability of weed seed germination in floodplain cultivated with flooded rice. Three depths of soil were used: 0-10 cm, 10-20 cm and 20-40 cm. In laboratory conditions, 800g of soil from each depth in five replications were placed in 20 cm high cut pet bottles, and subsequently placed in an incubator at 25ºC with 12 hours […]

Weed management is essential for obtaining high grain yields in irrigated rice. In this study, the objectives were to map, quantify and to evaluate resistance occurrence of weeds in irrigated rice production areas using the Clearfield® (CL) system in the state of Rio Grande do Sul (RS). For this, a phytosociological survey was carried out by means of georeferenced collections of soils in 36 farms with the cultivation of irrigated rice in 16 cities in RS. The soil samples were […]

The objective of this study was to evaluate the time of exposure to diquat in the control of Egeria najas, E. densa (Planchon) and Hydrilla verticillate (L.F.) Royle, and use of a new evaluation table to analyze the effectiveness of submerged aquatic plants. For this, concentrations were used 0.2; 0.8 and 1.6 mg L-1 of diquat and a control (without herbicide application). The 10 cm plants remained exposed for 5, 15, 30, 60, 240, 480, 720 e 1440 minutos. They […]

The presence of weeds can considerably affect the culture of sugarcane, especially in the beginning of its development. Thus, the aim of this study was to evaluate the efficacy of pre-emergence herbicides amicarbazone and flumioxazim in the control of the species Merremia aegypitia, Mucuna aterrima and Ricinus communis in the raw cane system. The survey was conducted under field conditions with sandy soil covered by 10 t. ha-1 sugarcane straw. The experiment was performed in quadruplicate outlined in randomized blocks. […]

The maintenance of the productivity of commercial crops is dependent on the use of phytosanitary products, but information about the interaction between them when used in mixture is restricted. The objective was to evaluate the physical properties, droplet spectrum and the physicochemical compatibility of mixtures with different doses and mixtures of herbicides. The treatments consisted of combining a formulation of the herbicide glyphosate with two commercial products formulated with the herbicide atrazine. The syrups were evaluated by the static method […]
