Abstract: Background: The use of adjuvants and nitrogen fertilizers mixed with herbicides can positively or negatively affect the control efficiency of weeds, such as horseweed. Objective: Our objective was to evaluate the interference of adjuvants and nitrogen fertilizers added to the application mixture, on the efficiency of the herbicides saflufenacil and glufosinate ammonium in controlling horseweed. Methods: The experiments were carried out from March to July 2019 under protected cultivation conditions in a greenhouse. Conducted in a randomized block design, […]

Abstract: Background: Glyphosate is the most widely used herbicide in Brazilian agriculture, and management techniques that increase its efficacy are important tools for the production system. Objective: Evaluate the effect of adding the nitrogen adjuvant ammonium sulfate [(NH4)2 SO4] to glyphosate on the control of Urochloa brizantha BRS Piatã and establish the best [(NH4)2 SO4] dose to mix with the herbicide. Methods: Two greenhouse experiments were conducted. In the first, six glyphosate doses (0; 33.75; 67.5; 135; 270; 540 g […]

Abstract: Background: The adoption of no-till drilled rice by some producers, facilitated by increasing crop rotations and integration with cattle breeding, has led to varying ryegrass residue volumes. Herbicide efficiency may vary accordingly to their physicochemical characteristics, interaction with pasture residue, moisture and rainfall availability. Objective: To investigate the influence of ryegrass residue volume on barnyardgrass control in irrigated rice established in no-till drilling systems with pre-emergent herbicides. Methods: The experiment was conducted during the 2018/19 and 2019/20 crop seasons […]
